[Korean Movie] 71: Into the fire

I am going to write this, while it is still fresh in mind.
I just saw this amazing movie, that brought me to tears and the biggest admiration.

71: Into the Fire (Korean 2010), is based on a real story. It is about the bravery that 71 student-soldier, trainees, demonstrated during the Korean war in 1950.
Oh Jung Bum, played by Choi Seung-hyun more known as T.O.P (Big bang), is a young man forced to experience war. He is assigned the big part of being the commander of 70 other students, without any former practice.

They are left by themselves, in a school, to protect the final line of defense. - While the others are fighting the war elsewhere.

Ku Kap-jo, played by Kwong Sang-woo, was a student convicted of murder. He served his sentence as a soldier in war. No one of the students really realized that is was in fact real, until they got a surprise attack from a small group of North Korean soldiers. While a much bigger threat is laying ahead.
They have to fight to survive, teenagers who needs to gather their courage together and fight the grown-ups war. To protect their country.

You will see the conflicts and emotions, displayed between young man - while making difficult decisions. A big brother shooting his own little brother, to end his pain and misery. A friend, burying his best friend in the ground. A teenager soldier, losing his life to protect the others. A courage boy, taking a bullet instead of his friend - "because his friend is a better fighter". A commander, growing with his assignment of leading them and fighting to the very end.
They fought an impossible war, but thanks to them they delayed the North side with eleven hours.

It is an incredible touching movie, that I think everyone should take their time for. Because it is worth it. You can definitely feel the pain and sorrow. I think the emotions shows throughout the movie and gets to its core, in the end. Really displaying the courage and greatness, of these teenagers.

Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P) is pretty new in acting. And of course, he is not perfect. But he most definitely got the painful look in his eyes. I could feel what he felt. So, I would say that he did an amazing work with this. He said himself, that he was in character out of screen too. And felt the pain of Oh Jung Bum. I think that improved a lot.

Lolli, lolli, lollipop, there's a lot of lollipop

Lollipop is spreading...
Cause, who doesn't like a lollipop eehh?

We start of with Big Bang and 2NE1's Lollopop (2009)

And then we proceed with Big Bang's own Lollipop pt. 2 (2010)

Also, f(x) and M.I.C (Chinese version) Lollipop (2010)

And moving on to f(x) ft. SHINee's Lollipop (2011) No MV *sadface*

>

So... Big Bang helped 2NE1 to debut, through the LG phone - lollipop commercial, in 2009. The commercial went so well with Big Bang and 2NE1, that the company wanted to try it out in China too. And then it was f(x)'s turn to "help" or promote the new Chinese band M.I.C, in the Chinese LG phone commercial.

Than after that Big Bang have continued with another LG commercial, lollipop pt.2. With different lyrics and sound. And f(x) did another Korean version with SHINee.

Which one do you like the most?

2NE1

2NE1 is a South Korean hiphop/pop girlsgroup, with 4 members. They debuted in "Lollipop" with Big Bang, in 2009. 2NE1 is supposed to be read as 21, or "to anyone" but I hear different versions everywhere. All of the members have done solo careers.

CL (Lee Chae Rin) born 1991, who is the leader and main rapper.
Minzy (Gong Min Ji) born 1994, who is the lead vocalist, lead rapper and main dancer. And also the youngest in the group.
Bom (Park Bom) born 1984, who is the main vocalist.
Dara (Sandara Park) born 1984, who is vocalist and rapper.
.
They have given out a new single, a couple of days ago, around 12th of may. I like it a lot... It has a calm and nice tune to it. Really gets your heart, well.. at least mine.

2NE1 - Lonely (2011)

I really adore Park Bom and CL:s voices.

And speaking of Park Bom, who also have given out a new solo. Her voice is seriously amazing.

Park Bom - Dont cry (2011)

And to finish it of, and end it with a favorite of mine ~

2NE1 - Go away (To Anyone album 2010)
Where CL gets the highlight and comes out really well. The lyrics and MV goes right to my heart.

2NE1 - Don't stop the music (Promotional single 2010, 2nd mini album 2011)

 2NE1 - Clap your hands (2010)
I really like the choir of this one. I do the clapping like a geek too, which starts in 01.00 into the video.

It became more than just one favorite there, didn't it. I still got "Try to follow me", which I didn't really like at first, but I guess it grows on you. And also "You & I" etc...
But if you like 2NE1 you've already heard it. And if you are new in 2NE1's world... then you should check out the other songs too.

Dark hours

I was very close to start writing about myself, right about now, but stopped in time.
I did have two other blogs before, and people who wasn't supposed to read anything about me, found it.
You can call them stalkers.
So I stopped writing about myself at all at that time, and my blog kind of died. I kept writing small poems and other topics that had nothing to do with myself. And on the other blog I wrote only about anime... but I didn't have the drive to keep going with either one.
I also ended other memberships on sites and finally created new ones, to be anonymous.
I've started to talk about myself a bit more but not really to the fullest, I would say. And I probably never will again.

 No one will notice...

I have this really big urge to just let things out right now though.
This is the start of something good, hopefully... but also something scary as hell. My pain is growing for every minute, and starting to get to a dangerous zone.
I have never ever talked about it before, my mum didn't even know.  I am really good at keeping things shut inside and not showing anything on the surface. And now I have taken the step to get some real help... That is a really small step for others perhaps..., but a really HUGE step for myself. And I really hope that I wont break ... and just grow from it.

And later... Later i can proceed with my future and dreams. To learn the Korean and Japanese language completely and became a bridge between our different languages. And also too move to South Korea and leave this boring country, I'm living in.
I AM going to move forward!
Every path is the right path. Everything could have been everything else, and it will have just as much meaning.

Big bang - Love song (Beautiful context)

Okey, this is the last Big bang post I will make in a while now. I kind of promise, but I can't promise... if you know what I mean.

So, I am that kind who will listen to a song until it gets stale. And then I move on to another song and listen to that one, in the same procedure. Until I actually can go back to the song from before, and feel like its all new again. Some tunes get boring pretty quickly, and others stay quite a while.

I'm like that with everything. Always having a period of time, when I love something and know everything there is to know about it.
So, I have been following Big Bangs development like a leech... that didn't sound very glamorous though. But still...

And this song is exactly what I'm talking about. I've been listening to it for forever, day after day, and I'm still not tired of it... I think.
I have, like small pauses a day or two sometimes, to get back to it and fully appreciate it again.

Anyhow... This video is really beautiful in my opinion.

Big Bang - Love Song

Have a great listening, I know I will.. again.

[Sound of the Week] Big Bang - Sunset Glow

☆ Sound of the Week!

An oldie ... well, actually just from year 2008, but it has a really good summertune to it.
I find myself sitting on the balcony with this song in my ears, and I'm popping in the chair like I was mental - waving my hands back and forward. My neighbors, who doesn't hear the sound - since I listening through my headphones, think I'm a lunatic or something.
Waving my hands from left to right, when the part "ah-ah-ah-ahah-ah-ah-ah" comes at 2.17 ~ when they arrive at the beach... yeah, you get it. *laugh* If you do the same, your my match!

Big Bang - Sunset Glow (2008)

I really love this video too... I get a refreshing, happy feeling from it.

Big Bang

I have had a hard time not mentioning anything about Big Bang actually.
Big Bang is my first and biggest love, when it comes to Korean music. And the trouble is, if I start talking about them - I cant stop.
If you haven't listen to Big bang, you are not worthy of listening to Korean music at all. (Very serious subject indeed, *hehe*)
I, myself are a total G-dragon bias. But lately T.O.P has weight his way in there too, with his amazing rap. Damn, his voice are able to melt my soul. And G-dragons effort and hard work in to Big bang, are able to ... well, lets just say that I'm on his waiting-list of people who wants to slave for him. I wonder if its my turn soon?

Big Bang is a south Korean band, with five members. They debuted in 2006, later with the song "Big Bang". They also had their "Big bang Documentary" back then.

G-dragon (Kwon Ji Yong) is born 1988 and is the leader of the group. He also have his grand soloalbum. He is both vocalist and rapper. And I am seriously looking up to this great guy. He is the one writing a lot of the songs, all by him self. And working really hard for the team/group. (Yeah, the fan-girl just popped up)
Taeyang/Sol (Dong Young Bae) Born in 1988 and started in YG entertainment in a very young age (12), with G-dragon at the same time. Taeyang is one of the vocalists and very good at dancing and the piano.
T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) is born 1987 and is a rapper in the band. He is also an actor in different dramas and movies. He and G-dragon have done there own album together too.
Daesung/D-lite (Kang Dae Sung) is born in 1989 and are one of the vocalists.
Seungri/V.I (Lee Seung Hyun) is the youngest in the group. Born in 1990.
All of them have actually done solo careers.

Well, as I mentioned - I have a hard time not being a total fan-girl about them. Which end in a very poor comment. Since I only go into my gibberish mode... like you all notice.

Big Bang came out with a new album, not that long ago.
And I don't even need to say, that I loved it - do I?
Love Song, Stupid lover, Tonight, What is right and Hands up are some of my favorites. I only left out Cafe and Baby don't cry, didn't I. That is to be suspected from me, to mention almost every song.

I think they did an awesome job with this new album, a totally special feeling about it. And hearing G-dragons voice come out to the fullest. *kekeke*

They also gave out a Japanese version of it, which came out yesterday I think. In their album (Big Bang 2), there are two complimenting songs, in Japanese, worth mentioning. And the point I was making with this entry, actually... There are "Tell me Goodbye" and ~

Big Bang - Beautiful Hangover (2011)

Big Bang is indeed like a beautiful hangover... or something like it.

I will most definitely talk about them again. With restriction.
And a bonus (I could seriously post like, every song they have done... but I wont... probably).

Big Bamg (G-dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang) - Hallelujah (for the Korean drama IRIS)

One of the best hallelujah songs I've heard.

Jay Park

So, I stumbled over a new album with Jay Park.

He was actually the leader of the group 2PM before. But because of a lot of misunderstandings he left both 2PM and Korea completely, to live in his hometown Seattle. He then "disappeared" until he was noticed on YouTube.
He started his own YouTube account and made his own interpretation on the song "nothin' on you", in his bathroom. The video got 1.500,000 views in less than 24 hours. B.o.B's "Nothin' on you" also got first place on music sites as Melon, Mnet, Dosirak, etc, thanks to Jay Parks video.
He then thanked his fans and asked them to not hate or blame anything on the other 2PM members.
It's a lot of background story there... Kind of interesting how fans, people overall and music-labels think and do their business.
He is now in Korea again at last, and was welcomed from thousands of fans - which made it to history, as the biggest crowd at Incheon International airport.

The new album is called "Take a deeper look". And I'm not sure exactly when it came out, other than in 2011, but I immediately liked one of the songs.

Jay Park feat. Kang Min Kyung (Davichi) - Tonight (The music starts at 0.50 ~ But it is a pretty good dance act first).

At 4.32 ~ there is a dance act again. Jay Park is really a good dancer, and well.. the other ones too. The sound of this song caught my heart.

And, updating with Jay Park - Abandoned (2011)

And of course the dance version, since I'm a dance freak overall.

Miss A

Today is another day... Oh, you don't say. But anyway... (It rhymes ^^)
Miss A have come out with a new song. It came out 2nd of may and I like it a lot.

Miss A - Love Alone (2011)

Miss A is a Korean girls-group, with four members. They debuted in 2010 officially, with "Bad girl, Good girl".

Fei (Wang Fei Fei) who is the oldest, born in 1987, in China. The main vocalist of the group.
Jia (Meng Jia) who is the main rapper and lead dancer. Also born in China, 1989.
Min (Lee Min Young) born in 1991 in America. A vocalist and main dancer of the group.
Suzy (Bae Su Ji) is the youngest, born in 1994. She was in the drama "Dream High". She is the lead vocalist.

We move forward to two of my favorite songs from before ~

Miss A - Breathe (2010)

That dance is seriously amazing! I saw them in a music concert and they actually did that dance while singing "breathe", obviously. And they were so IN to it, that they actually had a hard time breathing. *laugh*

Miss A - Bad girl, Good girl (2010)

And yes, they did go all the way down on the floor for this song too, at the concert.

[Korean Movie] Heaven's postman

A while ago I was watching this amazing movie. Well, it was amazing in my opinion at least. It was so incredible touching. It brought tears to my eyes, so many times.
So which movie was it - well, Heaven's postman (korean movie 2009) is the name. And the name tells a little bit of the story.

It is about Shin Jae Joon played by Hero JaeJoong
(one of the most beautiful male persons I know of - just had to say that.)
He is sent to be a messenger between the real world and heaven. He reads the letters people write to their loved ones, that has past away. And he send it forward to them, or help the still living people to feel just a little bit better and at ease. A really beautiful thought, that can go a bit wrong at times
Shin Jae Joon meets Jo Ha Na (Han Hyo Joo), who left a letter to her late boyfriend. When she place the letter into the mailbox, out in nowhere, she sees Jae Joon. She ask him who he is, and he introduce himself very lightly to be Heaven's postman. Obviously, Ha Na wont believe him. Who would believe a person, saying those words?

He then asks Jo Ha Na to be a part-time worker for him, and help him with his letters. And this is where the story takes off.

At first, the thought is just simple. Jae Joon just wants company and probably wants to make Ha Na lighter at heart, forgetting the pain bit by bit. And Ha Na herself, just wants a weird adventure. Helping people through the letters, and still not really believing Jae Joon's words. But soon enough, things get complicated. Things are not always going as planned.

In the beginning I had a little bit of a hard time to understand it. The story gives you hints throughout the movie, and when you actually get it, and start figure things out - Well, it brought me to tears.
The reason why Jo Ha Na saw him, was so heartbreaking for me. Since the outcome and consequences from it, will hurt both parts. Also the reason why Shin Jae Joon is a messenger between the two worlds, gets resolved bit by bit.

You can actually miss out on those hints, if your not careful. The romance in the movie is one thing, but the really intriguing things is the happenings in the background. Those things which are highlighted near the end.

It's not a cheesy movie, in my opinion... it's just the right amount of everything. You can see how Jo Ha Na is actually the angel and savior in Shin Jae Joon's life, instead of the other way around. He needs her more than he thought. And the pain from realizing things, when it get serious. ~

It is simply a beautiful movie, that will touch your heart. Also, the scenery is really beautiful. You get some amazing surroundings to look at.

Well. It was indeed a very meaningful movie for me, personally. It climbed up a long way on my "have-watched-list". It went by a little bit to fast through the story sometimes though, I would prefer it being a bit longer. But for the length, they concluded it really well. It was reasonable.

I have to say that JaeJoong impressed me a lot. He is not just a good singer and have a good face. He can also act. Thanks to him, you get a deep feeling from the movie. You can really feel the pain in his eyes. And of course, from Han Hyo Joo also. She became more of the main person in the end, and her feelings were most definitely brought out to the audience.

Well, I can't say much more about Heaven's postman, without revealing something major out of the story. I actually thought that it would be even more complex than it was. But that's me in a nutshell... I always think to much into things.

- I dearly recommend watching it

It is a project between both Korea and Japan, called Telecinema. It was produced simultaneously for television and cinema. So it is seven episodes in total - with different story's.
Heaven's postman being one of the story's/movies. And each act are 120 minutes long. It seems to be a Japanese screenwriter and a Korean producer for everyone of them.
I haven't seen the other ones yet though. I was thinking of seeing "19-nineteen" soon, just because T.O.P is in it (Big bang). Some other titles are "A dream comes true", "Triangle" and "After the banquet".

Heaven's postman Trailer ~
(I think the trailer reveals way to much of the story, but well - watch it with your own awareness)
